COMT Internship

As of May 2021, COMT is now a National Roster Internship program!  As a company, we are devoted to the promotion and education of music therapy as a profession and provider of health care services. Internship allows students to fully immerse themselves in the professional world and build crucial collaborative skills as they work side by side with professional music therapists, as well as other professionals in health care, education and wellness settings. COMT does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, religion, age, disability, national origin, immigration status, socioeconomic status, marital status, language, ability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, developmental level, health status, mental health, or military status. Interns accepted to our internship program will not only work with the Internship Director, but also have an opportunity to learn alongside several supervising therapists with varying approaches such as humanistic, trauma-informed, and behavioral.

Because COMT interns are required to work at a variety of sites and with different populations, acceptance into our internship program has a rigorous audition process with an emphasis on strong musical skills (e.g. include functional guitar, piano and percussion skills, the ability to sing in tune, improvise at a basic level, competence on their primary instrument, etc.). Applications are due December 1 for the September through May clinical training program of the following year (for example, submitting an application on December 1st, 2023 would be for a September 2024 start date). Please complete all documents and send to the address on the application.  We look forward to hearing from you!
