Music Therapy Group

Children’s Group- Tuesday Mornings 10:30-11:00AM

Adult Group- Friday Afternoons from 3:00-3:30PM

*Limited Spots Available, additional groups may be offered depending on demand and therapist availability*

Want to make music with others from the safety of your own home? Join the “Your Music, New Friends” group provided through Central Ohio Music Therapy, LLC. This group is designed specifically for the needs of adults with developmental disabilities and is led by board certified music therapist, Stephanie H. Morris, MM, MT-BC.  What will Music with Friends look like?

·      Enjoy making music in the safety of your home! All you need is an internet connection, a Zoom account, email account, & headphones in order to participate!  *let us know if headphones are not possible due to physical, sensor and/or safety issues and we will work with you on this requirement

·      Sessions will last approximately 30 min and are limited to 5 participant maximum.

·      Participants will have the opportunity to contribute their preferences and ideas for group music and activity choices.

·      Sessions may include music listening and discussion, home instrument playing (ideas for homemade/improvised instruments provided), singing, moving and fun songwriting

·      Through a Zoom platform, individuals will get to see and hear their friends take turns making music

Connecting Our Voices

Music Therapy Choir

Wednesday Evenings 6:30-7:30PM

Do you love to sing?  Are you looking for a way to connect with others? Would you like to experience participating in a choir led by a choir director who is a board certified music therapist with experience leading individuals with varying abilities via both in person and telehealth formats?  Central Ohio Music Therapy invites you to join the “Connecting Our Voices” Choir directed by Stephanie H. Morris, MM, MT-BC, who has led the Athens County Community Singers, a choir for all voices,  for over 6 years. 

This choir is tailored for  adults with developmental disabilities, yet anyone who loves to sing can participate. Here are a few things you need to know:  

  • Enjoy making music in the safety of your home! 
  • Choir will focus on fun and fostering the health benefits of singing
  • You do NOT need to know how to read music to be successful in this choir!
  • YOU get to help choose what the choir sings 
  • Anyone (18 years and older) is able to join

What you need to participate: 

  •  An internet connection, an email account, and a Zoom account
  • Computer, tablet or smartphone with video camera and audio input (built in microphone or otherwise) & output (built in speaker/headphone jack)
  • Headphones are ideal but not required *let us know if headphones are not possible due to physical, sensor and/or safety issues and we will work with you
